Samsung in Triple Play, Wibro Deal with Croatian Portus

Samsung recently announced it has reached an agreement with Croatian fixed-line operator Portus, whereby Samsung will supply TPS (Triple Play Service) and Wibro technology and equipment to Portus. The TPS part of the deal includes 60 billion Won worth of equipment, and support in setting up the service. Samsung will use ADSL2+ technology, which has a data transmission speed of 24Mbps, for the TPS, which includes VoIP, high-speed Internet, and IPTV. Portus plans to start the TPS in the beginning of 2007, while it is aiming for a start to its Wibro service at the end of 2006.
